UZO AGHAEGBUNA
Our team of lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants are supervised by our Managing Attorney, Uzo Aghaegbuna. Uzo as he prefers to be called, is a versatile Canadian, trained abroad as well as in Canada, as a lawyer. He is a member of both the Law Society of Alberta, Canada and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Our team of lawyers, paralegals and legal assistants are supervised by our Managing Attorney, Uzo Aghaegbuna. Uzo as he prefers to be called, is a versatile Canadian, trained abroad as well as in Canada, as a lawyer. He is a member of both the Law Society of Alberta, Canada and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.
He graduated from the prestigious University of Nigeria Faculty of Law and after attending the Nigerian Law School, was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Apart from his basic Degrees in Law (LL.B (Hons); B.L), he also holds four (4) Masters Degrees in: Laws – (LL.M); International Law and Diplomacy – (M.I.L.D); Industrial and Labour Relations – (M.I.L.R); and Humanitarian and Refugee Studies – (M.H.R.S). In addition, he holds the B.L. Degree of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
He is a certified Project Manager, with Project Management Certification from the Project Management College, United Kingdom. He is a certified Mutual Funds Advisor with the Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) Certificate from the Canadian Securities Institute.
Uzo has more than fifteen (15) years of active law practice experience and more than 7 years of in-house Legal Counsel Experiences, both overseas, as well as more than 5 years of ad-hoc and full time Canadian Law Firm research and law practice experiences.
He also has more than fifteen (15) years of cognate banking experiences, mostly at senior Management positions and had at various times been Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of two overseas Banks; was a Regional Credit Risk Manager of another overseas Bank; and also variously headed the Investment Banking Group, Remedial Assets Management/Debt Recovery Group, Corporate Banking Group and the Oil and Gas Group, respectively, of yet another one of the major banks overseas.
In the course of his legal career, he has attended various basic and advanced legal courses and programmes both locally and internationally and has garnered legal experiences and done legal research and consultancy work for clients in South Africa, Ghana, Togo, Republic of Benin, Liberia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Singapore and Canada.
A widely traveled man, Uzo is a community activist involved in many community projects both overseas and in Calgary, Canada and volunteers with a number of community and non-profit organizations, also both in overseas and in Calgary, Canada. A member of the Global Lawyers of Canada, he partners with Legal Aid Alberta and Calgary Legal Guidance to provide highly subsidized and pro-bono legal services and guidance, respectively, to economically disadvantaged Canadians.
Uzo is an exemplary personality and legal professional, who is very charitable and professional in his dealings with others. He is a dedicated Christian and family man, compassionate, diligent, intelligent and committed to civil and human rights issues and is always willing to bend over backwards to get a job done and done very well. He has garnered many awards and accolades in his academic, banking and legal careers.
Attorney
Osehise Lawretta Odigie
Our team of Attorneys includes Osehise Lawretta Odigie. Lawretta as she is mostly known is a dual-qualified lawyer, trained in multiple common law jurisdictions as well as in Canada. She is a Notary Public of the Province of Alberta and she is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Canada, and the Nigerian Bar Association.
Lawretta received her Diploma in Social Works from Ambrose Alli University in Nigeria in 2000 and received the Bachelor of Laws Degree from the same Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria in 2005. She attended the Nigerian Law School where she received her Qualifying Certificate. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in May 2007 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. She also has a Master’s Degree in International Law, from the London Metropolitan University.
In Canada, she completed her NCA exams for the licensing process and articled at the prestigious firm of Temple Law and passed the CPLED exams and all other requirements of the Law Society of Alberta before being Called to the Alberta Bar.
Lawretta has practiced in the areas of Corporate and Commercial law, Contract Management, Conveyancing, Immigration, Aviation, and Air Space Management, International and Cross-border Mergers and Acquisition, Private-Public Partnerships, and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Lawretta is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association and has attended several conferences and seminars. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, United Kingdom, and the Nigerian Institute of Management. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Wuse Central, Abuja, Nigeria, where she has actively held several leadership positions.

Racheal Akporhuarho
Racheal is currently a Student-at-Law at Stanley Law. She originally trained abroad at one of Nigeria’s leading Universities, Delta State University, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006, upon completing her studies at the Nigerian Law School. She also holds a Diploma in Legal Administration, from Reeves
College, Calgary, Canada.
A member of the Nigerian Bar Association, Racheal served numerous clients traversing a wide range of legal matters. With over 8 years of legal experience in the general practice of law, she physically relocated to Canada where she continued her passion for legal practice and her commitment to hard work earned her enrolment as a Student-at-Law with the Law Society of Alberta.
As Student-at-Law, she is presently actively gaining Canadian legal experience in different areas of law, including Immigration and Refugee Law, Real Estate Law, Criminal Law, Wills and Estate Law, and Family and Matrimonial Law. She is fun-loving and loves to travel and spend time with family.

Elizabeth Pam
Elizabeth Pam is a graduate of Law from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, where she graduated in 2006. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007 and has since then worked in various professional capacities. She worked as an in-house Counsel in Widows and Economic Empowerment Foundation (WEEF), a non-profit organization, and then as an associate lawyer in the private Nigerian legal sector. She also possesses a Master’s Degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.
Prior to joining Stanley Law as a Student-at-Law, she volunteered at the Elizabeth Fry Society of Calgary, providing support to Duty counsel by assisting self-represented litigants on the domestic violence court floor.
Elizabeth is a dynamic and resourceful individual who is passionate about the provision of access to justice initiatives targeted at the community. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching game shows, and spending time with her family.
